April Ross
April Ross has won more than one Olympic medal. She is one of only a handful of female beach volleyball players to achieve this feat. Alix Kallineman is set to compete alongside April Ross in Tokyo in order to claim her third gold medal over the next couple of days. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic Gold. It could be her final opportunity to claim an Olympic gold. Her confidence is high but she is not sure. If we perform at our very best or even really well, I believe we can get that gold medal Ross spoke of via NBC Boston. And then I'll also have some luck. Ross is born in the year 1982. Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents and her sister. In Newport Harbor High School, she participated in various activities. As well as the indoor game, she played basketball and jogged track as an athlete in the pre-professional stage. In her final game she was clearly the standout. At the time of her high school volleyball career as per her college profile, she played the roles of a middle blocker, outside hitter, and setter. The award was presented to her as one of the Gatorade National Circle of Champions Player of the year in 1999 for her achievements. Also, she won the 2000 Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. While Ross and Klineman are a couple since 2017, the former had already been a major player on the beach scene way before they teamed up. She actually won many major events playing two partners. One of which is famous for her volleyball skills. Between 2007 and 2013, she was working by Jennifer Kessy, who is her current coach. Together, Kessy Ross was an active participant on the international circuit winning a world title in 2009. In 2012, the duo won silver at London's Olympics. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) and Misty Maytreanor took home gold overtaking them. Ross Walsh was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's departure. The pair won bronze in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross participated in the Trojans from USC during high school after she finished high school. Her experience at USC was awe-inspiring. It was her time to be an All-American as well as Pac-10 Freshman of the Year in the year 2000. The Trojans even made it to the Final Four. After her sophomore year, she experienced a terrible personal loss and still was able to be named an All-American. After two more seasons with the Trojans she was instrumental in helping them to win two consecutive titles. As an individual Ross established her status as a legend after winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. The award went to the highest female collegiate athlete in the nation. Ross was a international relations student at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, didn't get the privilege of watching Ross' daughter blossom into the beach volleyball's biggest star. At the time of 2001, while Ross was a sophomore in USC her mother passed away from breast cancer. She continues to hold her lost parent near and dear. Margie remains an inspiration on the beach as well as throughout her entire life.
